Welcome to the Digital Manufacturing module.

This module gives participants the opportunity to acquire skills in the use of digital manufacturing methods and their integration with computer aided design (CAD). It provides experience of all the stages of process development in the planning and execution of an advanced engineering manufacturing program. The student will gain experience in the use of appropriate digital tools and techniques to support all of the major decisions made in manufacturing planning including: assembly process validation, ergonomics and human task analysis, line balancing, automation, factory simulation. The course will offer a foundation in Digital Manufacturing approaches, and will incorporate case studies relevant to the Naval Ships or wider BAE systems context.

This course is a pilot for BAE Systems and so we welcome any suggestions or feedback at any time; please contact us at cpd@uws.ac.uk.
